Information Security Architect Job

Armstrong World Industries, Inc. has a job opportunity for an Information Security Architect. The successful candidate will possess an understanding of information security management principles and practices and serve Armstrong as the subject matter expert for IT security, information security, and cybersecurity matters. A commitment to customer service is essential and the Information Security Architect must have a sense of urgency but should not compromise accuracy for expediency. The Information Security Architect is responsible for establishing and maintaining appropriate policies and practices so that users can protect sensitive information within the company. They must develop reports to share with administrators and management about the efficiency of security policies and recommend any changes. The analyst must also organize and periodically conduct training for employees regarding company security and information safeguarding. The Information Security Architect will coordinate assurance that all security systems are current with any software or hardware changes in the company and they must plan and document all security information in the company including physical and internet security.
Key Responsibilities of the Information Security Architect:
Interface with user community to understand security needs and implements procedures to accommodate them. Ensure that user community understands and adheres to necessary procedures to maintain security.
Identify and explore opportunities for Privacy and Security education and collaboration
Help to develop communications and actively promote related campaigns for information security awareness among all staff as the Information Security Architect
Assist with education and training of internal business partners so they better understand the technology controls framework and their responsibilities within it.
Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive data at all times
Maintain information classification standards through tools and user education
Maintain and improve information security and assurance through innovation and research, keeping track of the threat matrix and its application to the corporate profile
The Information Security Analyst will identify and explore opportunities to improve information security on mobile devices through software and education
Research and evaluate security technologies.
Audit and enforce internal information security policy compliance, establish and control security awareness
Execute periodic security assessments/audits partnering with internal or external organizations to cover: information security, infrastructure penetration tests, ethical hacking, process security assessment
Assist with security and operational audits with clients; regulatory agencies; and industry leading security vendors
Conduct data classification assessment and security audits and manage remediation plans
Collaborate with IT management, Network Security, the legal department, and Internal Audit to manage security vulnerabilities
Participate in the evaluation of vendor proposals, conduct process analysis, reviews information security architectures and recommend modifications to the information security operation to reduce costs or improve service
Conduct security risk assessments for technology changes as part of change management process and for technology projects as part of PMO methodology.
Under the guidance of the Information Security Officer, assist with enterprise-wide risk assessment processes on a yearly basis as part of company risk management standard
Evaluate and develop approach to solutions to address protection of information assets as the Information Security Analyst
Proactively identify gaps or conflicts in existing security processes and work to develop solutions.
Maintain an awareness of existing and proposed security standard setting groups, State and Federal legislation and regulations pertaining to information security and identify regulatory changes that will affect information security policy, standards and procedures, and recommend appropriate changes
Participate in cross-domain, cross-functional matrix project teams to implement solutions in a highly collaborative manner
Participate in the development and documentation of security policies and procedures
Assist with successful implementation and enforcement of security policies and procedures as the Information Security Analyst
Participate with the implementation of security initiatives
Create and maintain project-related documents (security controls assessments / risk assessments)
Required Qualifications for the Information Security Analyst:
Bachelor's degree
5-8 years of related experience
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing to all levels of the company
Ability to analyze complex issues, think critically, act tactfully and develop appropriate solutions to business problems
Identify opportunities and execute plans to improve workflow and understand and quantify business impacts of those improvements for communication to management
Strong planning and organizational skills, as well as follow through
Project management
Capable of creating compelling presentations in support of recommendations to other teams and management
Ability to work with minimal supervision and strong customer service skills
Desire to learn new security skills
Strong team player
Strong perseverance abilities in the face of challenges and an ability to deal with conflicts constructively
Participate in cross-domain, cross-functional matrix project teams to implement solutions in a highly collaborative manner
Efficiently manage multiple simultaneous tasks
Provide accurate and timely reporting on all project deliverables.
Desired Qualifications for the Information Security Analyst:
Bachelors in Information System or technical related discipline
CISSP, CRISC, GIAC, or other security certifications

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
